Drawing Together
Organised by Cheng-Chu Weng & Dr Sunil Manghani
‘Drawing Together’ is a project proposed for Winchester’s 10 Days Biennale, which this year takes on the theme of ‘chalk’.

Through the medium of chalk and shadows, the project aims to bring people together to engage in a shared act of drawing within the grounds of Winchester Cathedral. Participants will be invited to mark out the shadow of those around them. In doing so, the chalk lines will gradually merge into forms, which will in effect bring everyone together in a shared space. The drawing of shadows, which are fleeting, ephemeral phenomena could also be said to relate to the ethereal mists of Winchester, born of its chalk geology. The project is committed to making art accessible, engaging with the widest possible audience in the open-air forum of the Winchester Cathedral grounds.
